Role Overview

Monitor Dynamics is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Security Systems Administrator to serve as our primary on-site technical representative.

In this role, you will be the technical lead responsible for maintaining the health, performance, and reliability of the MDI SAFENet enterprise security management platform at one of our largest federal installations. You will work directly with customer personnel, IT staff, and MDI engineering to keep mission-critical security systems running at peak performance.

Full training on the MD SAFENet platform will be provided. Prior SAFENet experience is not required but would be beneficial. What matters is a strong foundation in enterprise systems administration and a track record of solving complex technical problems independently.

Final offer is commensurate with experience, technical qualifications, and demonstrated expertise in enterprise systems administration and physical security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the MDI SAFENet enterprise security management platform.
  • Monitor overall system health and proactively investigate alarms, errors, and communication issues
  • Troubleshoot Windows Server, SQL Server, networking, VMWare environments, and application-level problems
  • Coordinate software upgrades, patches, and planned maintenance activities
  • Configure and support intelligent field controllers and access control hardware
  • Support badge access management, alarm monitoring, and integrated security devices
  • Collaborate with FDA IT staff on server infrastructure, firewalls, networking, and cybersecurity requirements
  • Maintain system documentation, change logs, and operational procedures
  • Provide technical support and training for system operators and administrators
  • Escalate complex issues to MDI engineering while assisting with diagnosis, testing, and resolution
  • Participate in planned maintenance windows and occasional after-hours support activities
  • Develop and document recommendations for improving system performance and reliability

 

     

    Qualifications

    Required

    • 5+ years of experience administering enterprise software systems in a production environment
    • Strong Windows Server administration skills
    • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server
    • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
    • Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise applications under operational pressure
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — this role interfaces directly with federal customer personnel
    • Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
    • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving instincts
    • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance
